This mod was built and edited from the original 'Get Vista Games in XP Start Menu' posted by Picassa243 here: [link]
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Create a folder on your desktop. Call it "Game_Explorer" (with an underline dash between the words.) 2. Move the folder to your local drive. On most PCs that's the "C" Drive. Example: C:\Game_Explorer. 3. Inside that folder create a folder "Game Explorer" without the underline dash between words. 4. Copy the icon of your choice from this pack to WINDOWS\System32. 5. Double click the Registry Patch called Run_Reg_Code. 6. Log off, then back on. That's it. A Games folder will appear on your start menu on the bottom right.
Add shortcuts to any game you like to the folder "C:\Game_Explorer\Game Explorer" and it will appear in the menu folder.
(Items listed below are not needed to run this registry tweak, but were used in screenshot)
1.The start menu is a WindowBlinds skin, but for the purposes of this mod, you don't need Windowblinds. You can use ANY of the thousands of free visual styles here on dA and the icons you see and change of names from "my documents' to 'libraries', etc. will show if you have installed my Windows 7 Classic Pack:[link] . 2. If you want the fat taskbar and Windows 7 taskbar icons visit my mod here: [link] . 3. If you want the Windows 7 build number on your desktop, go here: [link] . 4. If you want the Windows 7 style clock with time day and date stacked on top of eachother, go here: [link] . 5. The transparent docks on the right of the screen are called Fences. They are freeware and available here: [link] . 6. If you want the Reg Tweak that changes the name of the Windows Help folder, send me a note.
Go to your C drive, open the first games folder, then right click on the inside folder and select 'Send To Desktop'. Then go back to your desktop and drag/ drop the icon in your Documents folder...
You mean the original creator of the Vista submission, Blizzard? Thank you very much! I didn't think you even looked at my posts, and I thought this old submission had pretty much run it's course. But better late than never. . I'll include your link in the Artist's comments. (I should probably creditVishal Gupta as well, since he appears to have been in on the project.) Thank you for finding this!
